Let’s start with Koh Phangan and the full moon party island, where thousands of people come to drink, dance and get totally sh*t faced. I enjoyed it.
The island itself is nothing much compared to the other sites I’ve seen in my opinion, however the beach was beautiful that we stayed near to. We stayed near Haad Rin beach, where the full moon party takes place. My advice would be to stay within walking distance to avoid high taxi prices, and get a good nights kip on any other night.
Suksabai Resort I think was the name of our hotel – basic bungalows with a grimey feel. Not one of my favourites. It’s a little way from the pier, but easy enough to get a taxi and stay close to the action. If you’re looking for a cheap and easy place though, then go right ahead.
The Full Moon Party is worth going to. Our gang met up with people we’d met on previous Thailand places, so we had a great night on the beach. Being honest, it’s as special as you make it. The night before was similar with less people and less expectations, but if you tai it for what it is – a huge beach party, you’ll have a ball.
The buckets their again are magical, with everyone selling them. We liked to go back to the same person, because each time they would lower their prices because we’d came back to them.
Koh Phangan was definitely a place with memories – but I was happy to move on to the beautiful Koh Tao once the party was over.
