Lotions and Potions can be found at Voodou Liverpool on Bold Street. The place might as well be found on Diagon Alley; (pre-Voldemort) with unicorn hair dyes and mermaid plaits. They have a new spell up their sleeve, and it’s a miracle worker. Redken Heatcure is the new affordable treatment on your wishlist.
I’ve not been to Voodou Liverpool before. I have been to the fabulous Hippy Club boutique downstairs, and that was a favourite and still remains one. But this time, I got to experience the city famous salon that I’ve heard so much about.
I sent out a tweet before I arrive, and I already have a blogger letting me know that I’m going to have a fabulous time. Heading in to the busy salon, I’m greeted and shown to my seat – being offered drinks and magazines to keep me amused. But it’s not needed, because Marlene is here to help me soon enough. Her infectious accent welcomes me and starts to explain the transformation that my hair is about to go through. So…
The hairdresser will apply the Heatcure Professional Restoration Formula to cleansed and towel-dry hair. Then, she/he will glide the Heatcure Professional Tool through your hair section by section to activate the formula and restore your hair. When finished, it’s rinsed off your hair and all that’s needed then is to be styled as usual. Simple!
What Makes Heatcure Professional So Good?
The Heatcure Professional in-salon service restores the look and feel of damaged hair as the specialised formula with caring agents penetrates deep through the hair’s cuticle up to the cortex—leading to restorative results that can last up to 10 washes. The unique formula can only be activated when used in conjunction with the specifically designed tool. It looks like a pair of straighteners, that doesn’t leave you with split ends.
And What’s In It? Au Natural!
ARGAN OIL: Penetrates hair to be silkier and shinier with an intense softness.
ARGININE: Stimulates the scalp.
SOY PROTEIN: Seals in moisture and boosts body.
Let’s get to work. Marlene chats through the process step by step, and I end up with the glossiest hair by the end. At the start, we both examined my hair. I said it’s dry at the ends, but always oily at the top.
Once the treatment was over, it was balanced – clean, fresh roots and moisturised ends. Perfect!
I think the thing about this is the affordable and fast process. In the salon, it’s just £20 to add on to your treatment. And in the long run, it’s going to help you save. It’ll lock in the moisture to your hair, making you visit a little less.
Another thing that I really like about this product is you can choose to do it at home with Heatcure At-Home Self-Heating Mask. It’s a weekly fortifying mask that restores the healthy look and feel as it deep conditions. So go for your cut, colour and cure in the hairdressers, and then in between use this pack.
Apparently, all you do is…
- Peel: Before showering, peel open front to expose to air and start the self-heating.
- Heat: Wait 3-4 minutes to allow the contents to warm. While heating, do not place under water.
- Treat: After shampooing, open the pouch by tearing the perforation. Squeeze the pouch to dispense the formula into your hand. Distribute formula through hair. Leave on 5-10 minutes. Rinse.
Marlene kindly handed me one to take home and try – once I’ve used it, I’ll be posting on Instagram. Even better, the take home pack is £15, so if you’re not one for the hairdressers then you’re not going to miss out.
So girls… guys… salon lovers or home style huns – let me know if you try Redken’s Heatcure.
I want to see your hair flick…
